November is Food Shelf Month

Be on the lookout for how you can help those in our community.

November is typically known for Thanksgiving and Veterans Day. Thanksgiving is known for celebrating the harvest and other blessings of the past year. Veterans Day is a celebration to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for others.

When you think of those two days, it is giving thanks for those bountiful things we have been given by our Lord God and for the undeniable love of people and country for those who have served.

There are those in our midst who do not have the abundance some do and struggle to feed themselves and/or their family. How can we show our thanks for the abundance we have been given? How do we show our thanks for the love of others that God has shown to us? How can we help support those in need?

Let’s rally together and help raise money to donate to our local food shelves. The food shelves are open year-round, and there is always a need for funds to purchase food. For every dollar we donate, the food shelves can purchase nine dollars worth of food.

For the month of November, all loose offerings and monies dedicated will go to the local food shelves, and the church will match the funds raised. Last March, we raised $2,335.90 for the food shelf. Let’s see if we can beta that number and help more in need!
